ELS supports a healthy study environment and observes evolving laws against smoking in the USA
The past two years have witnessed phenomenal growth for ELS, and we would like to thank you for your continued support.
As the laws in the United States evolve, smoking has become more and more restricted. The number of ELS students gathering to smoke outside of building entrances and thereby creating litter on the campus has been increasing. There are a number of locations where smoking has become an issue with our university campus communities and authorities.
We are addressing this issue through the implementation of a Policy regarding smoking at our centers.
We are instituting the ELS Smoking Policy to ensure that we meet our responsibilities to our students, employees, visitors, host institutions and landlords. This policy communicates our commitment to promoting a healthy study and work environment by not allowing smoking in any of our facilities and ensuring our compliance with all laws, regulations and policies that govern our centers.
This ELS Smoking Policy is effective beginning session 4/2012. It will be communicated to all students by having them sign the ELS Smoking Policy – Student Contract (sample attached). This policy clearly outlines the consequences for any violation of the smoking policy.
Should you have any questions or need any assistance, please contact your Director of Recruitment and Partner Support.
