New Summer Housing at ELS/Portland!

May 7, 2013

New Summer Housing at ELS/Portland!
Effective Session 6B through Session 7B, 2013

Upon recent notification from our host institution, Concordia University, ELS/Portland’s dormitory student housing will change to a different on-campus residence hall from May 26th through July 20th, for Session 6 and 7, 2013. ELS students will move from Coates Hall to Neils Hall, which has double occupancy with apartment style living. In Session 8B, students will return to our normal on-campus housing unit in Coates Hall.

Neils Hall is located in the Residence Hall quadrant of Concordia University (number 13 on the campus map, which can be accessed by clicking here) and only half a block from Coates Hall. We will assist students in moving from Coates Hall to Neils Hall the weekend of May 26th, and again upon their return to Coates Hall the weekend of July 20th. ELS students will still enjoy all the amenities and benefits currently available to them on Concordia’s campus and with the same access to area attractions.

Neils Hall is a wonderful place for the students for the summer.Neils Hall has different units (like townhouses), and each unit has five rooms, with two beds, a microwave, mini refrigerator, and a divided closet in each room. Two rooms are downstairs, and three rooms are upstairs. There is a full shared bathroom both downstairs and upstairs. Two townhouses are for female use and two townhouses are for male use. In one of the two townhouses, there is a full kitchen and small furnished living room. In the other townhouse, there is a TV and a huge dining room/living room. The dining and living rooms have sofas, tables and chairs provided. These areas are meant to be shared by everybody in those two units. The Concordia University students call these townhouses because they feel like they live in a shared home. This living space promotes community between the units and fosters great relationships between ELS students and CU students
